American Idol 2014: Jennifer Hudson Preparing To Judge By House Hunting in LA?

In the never-ending query as to whether American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson will be a judge on the show for Season 13, Star Magazine implies J-Hud might be counting her chickens before they’re hatched. According to their article, the Weight Watchers spokesperson has been house-hunting so she’s all settled in by the time Idol begins.

RumorFix asked Jennifer’s rep about the article, and the rep told them “the article is premature.” That jibes with what we’ve heard as well. Her $4-5 million dollar contract was hammered out but has yet to be executed to the state of flux on the production team.

Chief Programming Director Mike Darnell left suddenly in May, at which point executive producers Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick were fired. Since then, Per Blankens has been hired as showrunner and David Hill has been hired to oversee production. Den of Thieves mega producing pair
Jesse Ignjatovic and Evan Prager were the latest addition to the production team.

Now that they seem to be fleshing out the production staff, we imagine the hiring of the 2014 American Idol judges will be next. If we had to guess, we’d say Jennifer Hudson will be the first to be confirmed. Stay tuned!
