Jennifer Hudson Dishes on New Album: “I’m Tapping Into Myself” (VIDEO)
It’s not hard to see that American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson is feeling fierce these days. As we’ve noted in some of our past videos, the (relatively) newly svelte singer isn’t afraid to show off her sexy figure. In this video, she not only looks fab but she also talks about how more of her artistry emerges on her next upcoming album, details of which we hope to know soon!
“It’s more of me coming through because I’ve been writing more,” the Weight Watchers spokesperson explains. “It’s more of my expression as a person and as a musician as well.”
J-Hud has been no stranger to tragedy, as her mother, brother, and nephew were murdered by her former brother-in-law in their Chicago home in 2008. In the video, she mentions that “Moan” is one of her favorites songs on the new album, as it reminds her of something her mother used to tell her to do. When Jennifer was in pain, her mother would tell her to moan and the pain would go away.
Although it’s been six years since the horrible tragedy, Jennifer’s not one to bottle up her emotions. In fact, she broke down when accepting the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Humanitarian back in January.
“My mother always taught us that without family you have nothing, and whether you know it or not, we all are family, and what happens to the other happens to us, so it’s very important to make a difference,” Jennifer said.
