Jennifer Lawrence Reveals Strange Fear, Ongoing “Meltdown”

We’re not alone in our super big Jennifer Lawrence crush, we’re well aware. But somehow, with every weird reveal, we want to nudge the person next to us and say did you see this? When Jen said... And in this round of “what did Jennifer Lawrence say,” we kind of want to rub her back and tell her things are going to be okay. As if she needs that.

In the September issue of Vogue, The Hunger Games star sat down with a super lucky writer to talk about her life. The profiles reveals quite a few interesting things about JLaw — including her very specific fears and the fact that she’s pretty sure she’s mid-meltdown right now.

Since achieving fame at a young age, getting multiple Oscar nods before she was old enough to even rent a car in most states, Jennifer has had to deal with a lot of fame issues. And while she’s not afraid, she is a little annoyed by it all. “I teeter on seeming ungrateful when I talk about this, but I’m kind of going through a meltdown about it lately,” she says of her continuing star rising.

Is the fame getting to her? Is starring in The Hunger Games and X-Men and all the indie movies a star could want finally causing her to question if she wants this? Not really. But the craned necks are. “All of a sudden the entire world feels entitled to know everything about me, including what I’m doing on my weekends when I’m spending time with my nephew. And I don’t have the right to say, ‘I’m with my family.’ ”

People continually tell her to deal, to “make peace” with her lack of privacy, but she has stubbornly refused. “I am just not OK with it,” she explains. She handles her fame with grace and quirky normal reactions of fangirling celebs and oversharing, without fear. Except for one weird thing: She thinks she talks about herself too much.

With so many reporters asking her endless questions, she says “My biggest fear is that I’m going to take that into the real world.” Luckily, her publicist, Justine,  is also now her best friend, and says that Jen has only gotten “more normal” through the years.

Oh yeah, and her other big fear? Um, not what you think. “I don’t have nightmares about clowns or burglars or murderers. I have nightmares about thirteen-year-olds. They terrify me.”

Us too, girl. See, we could totally be best friends with her...
