Secret Life of the American Teenager alum Shailene Woodley is all set to star in Divergent, a film adaptation of a popular dystopian young adult series (sound familiar?), and she shared with Vanity Fair some key advice J-Law gave her about starring in a similar franchise. Jen helped quell some fears she had about the long-term commitment.
“I have still yet to meet Jennifer in the flesh," says Shailene, "but I had a slight interaction with her where I asked her about Hunger Games and what it was like, and her life and how much it has changed. It was nice asking someone who has been through the process and is kind of seasoned in the young-adult franchise."
Among the "really beautiful advice" that Shailene "will definitely take"?
“It will be the best thing that ever happened. But don’t be an idiot, do a sex tape, or do drugs. And go to Whole Foods when your movie opens,” Shailene recounts.
Shailene will play Beatrice "Tris" Prior in Divergent, a teenager that seeks to break free of the faction she's divided into in a dystopian future.
