Jennifer Lawrence’s Rep Talks Nude Photo Leak: “A Flagrant Violation of Privacy” (VIDEO)
Jennifer Lawrence is having a tough weekend. According to TMZ, Jennifer is just one name on what could be a long list of celebrities who have been victimized by a hacking scandal on Sunday, which include Ariana Grande, Victoria Justice, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
While most nude photo leaks can be traced back to a recipient of the photos, that’s not quite true this time. Instead, the source of the photos is someone who has hacked into the victims’ personal computers or cell phones in order to get access to them, and that’s a huge violation of their privacy — and not to mention, illegal.
And Jennifer’s rep was quick to make sure that the hacker is aware of that fact. “This is a flagrant violation of privacy,” her rep said in a statement. “The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.”
Ariana Grande and Victoria Justice hurried to Twitter to inform fans that the photos that have leaked weren’t actually of them, while Mary Elizabeth admitted that the photos of her were real, and she’s not happy they got out.
“To those of you looking at photos I took with my husband years ago in the privacy of our home, hope you feel great about yourselves,” she wrote. “Knowing those photos were deleted long ago, I can only imagine the creepy effort that went into this. Feeling for everyone who got hacked.”
Keep your head up, Mary Elizabeth — and that goes for Jennifer, too! There are so many things you’re more memorable for than this unfortunate incident.
