Jennifer Lawrence has graced countless magazine covers in recent months, though she hasn't bared so much — or been so unrecognizable — than she is on the cover of Empire magazine's March 2014 issue. That's because the 23-year-old is dressed up as Mystique, her character in the superhero-saturated sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past.

In the photo, Jen is covered in blue body paints and scales — with orange hair and yellow eyes — in costume as the mutant shapeshifter.

In the movie — which combines characters from the original X-Men franchise with those of the 2011 prequel X-Men: First Class — the mutants have to fight for their survival across two time periods.

Jen's cover is one of 25 Empire is releasing — each one featuring a different image of a X-Men character (or of director Bryan Singer) — for the magazine's 25th anniversary.

Even cooler, the covers can be lined up side-by-side for a seamless panorama of Washington D.C. that spans both timeframes.

Other covers, for example, boast James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Ellen Page… even J.Law's boyfriend, Nicholas Hoult.

It's an all-star cast, but strangely, Jennifer's costume looks colder than the rest!X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on May 23, 2014.
