Are Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper actually time travelers because each successive movie in which they star takes them decades backward in time. Their third collaboration is the film Serena — due for release sometime this year — in which Brad and Jen play a married couple with a bloodthirsty drive for success in the late 1920s.
That timeframe explains the retro-chic fashion you see Jen and Brad wearing here!
The frequent co-stars play Serena and George Pemberton, who — according to the official synopsis for the 2008 Ron Rash novel on which the film is based — move from Boston to North Carolina to start timber empire in 1929, and they "ruthlessly kill or vanquish all who fall out of favor."
Serena turns out to be the real power player and "shows herself to be the equal of any man, overseeing crews, hunting rattlesnakes, even saving her husband's life in the wilderness."
But the fatal flaw to their ruthless pursuit of success is that Serena can't bear children, and George fathered an illegitimate child before Serena arrived in North Carolina.
We've seen J.Law as a young woman facing human and natural threats before: first in her Oscar-nominated turn in Winter's Bone, and then in the two Hunger Games movies released so far.
Still, she never braved the wilds in a platinum wig until now!
