Jenny McCarthy Talks Wedding Plans: No Vera Wang and No Ballgowns! (VIDEO)

Hope you’ve had your shots! Jenny McCarthy is engaged and it sounds like wedding planning is already getting feverish. The 41-year-old said yes to fiancé Donnie Wahlberg just a few short weeks ago but is already in the midst of bouquets, boutineers, and bridesmaids.

Of course, it all starts with the engagement ring and Jenny’s is hard to miss! The yellow sapphire was specifically picked by Donnie who, Jenny says, knew she “wouldn’t want a big diamond.”

“I like sapphires for their stone, their meanings behind it,” she told People at a Pandora Jewelry event in New York City. “Then he went and surprised me! My ring is a yellow sapphire, which means wisdom and prosperity, which is why I like it.”

She’ll be going a bit more traditional for the gown, saying she thinks ivory is the best choice for someone “my age.” Shopping has yet to commence but The View hostess already has a short list.

“Not Vera Wang. I’m so tired of everyone saying Vera Wang!” she said, adding “no ballgowns” to the don’ts as well.

A second marriage for both Jenny and Donnie, they would like to walk down the aisle in the spring but are considering a slightly earlier date.

“We’re like, do we do August and get it over with or do we wait a year?” she said. “I think wait a year.” Considering they’re going for New York for the location, we’d suggest any time not summer too!

Jenny’s 11-year-old son Evan has already played a big role in his mother’s nuptials, having helped Donnie plan and execute the proposal. “I kept thinking as Donnie got on his knee, Evan will remember this for the rest of his life and know how to do it, know how to treat a woman, know the right person to do it with,” she gushed to the magazine. “It’s for real what we have.”
