Jermaine Dupri’s Best Throwback Pics — See Highlights From JD’s 30-Year Career! (VIDEO)

It's time for a date with you, me, and Dupri!

Jermaine Dupri Maudlin has been dancing, rapping, or writing and producing songs for 30 of his 41 years on this planet, so we thought it'd be "germane" — get it?! — to take a look back at his esteemed career through throwback pics!

Around 1991, when he was still a teenager, Jermaine formed the group Kris Kross — whose first album, Totally Krossed Out, went multi-platinum and (ahem) commenced to make us all "jump, jump."

Shortly thereafter, he created the So So Def record label and signed girl group Xscape — which launched the careers of Wetpaint faves Kandi Burruss and Tameka "Tiny" Cottle. Their album, Hummin' Comin' at Cha, went platinum.

In 1997, he executive-produced User's sophomore effort, My Way, which ended up going platinum — six times. And then In 1998, he helped produce another debut album by another upstart female group, Destiny's Child.

Sense a trend here? Scores of pop, hip hop, and rap stars owe a large part of their success to Jermaine — the likes of which include Mariah Carey, Bow Wow, Chingy, and Monica.
