Of all the guests in that fateful barn on Grey's Anatomy who bore witness to Jackson (Jesse Williams) trying to steal April (Sarah Drew) from her wedding to Matthew, Jackson's girlfriend, Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton), is probably the one who should be the most furious! (Pending April's decision, though, Matthew might have equal cause for outrage.)
But, as Jerrika tells TVLine, her character shouldn't be angry with the now-very-blushing bride as Season 10 resumes tonight (February 27) — she should only be mad with Jackson.
"It's the worst kind of betrayal," she says. "It's one thing to say, 'I've been harboring these feelings, and I thought I dealt with them, but I haven't, and I'm actually involving you in this decision.' But it's another thing to devastate someone in such a public way in front of people that she has to work with the very next day."
True that. If we were in her high heels, we'd probably call out of work for the next, oh, year or so.
As for the actual love of Jackson's life, only time will tell how Stephanie handles working with April — but Jerrika says Steph shouldn't harbor ill will.
"April didn’t do this," she explains. "Call it feminist solidarity, but I think Stephanie should have little to no beef with April. All of this is about Stephanie and Jackson not doing enough soul searching on their own."
Now that's the high road!
But we're not sure April is above reproach. If she really wanted to, she could have shot down Jackson's hopes long since. But what do you think? Is April to blame for any of this? Let us know in the comments below!
