It's a truth universally acknowledged that when a girl is met with an awkward silence, she must fill that void with a compliment. Necessary or not, compliments are a great way to get out of uncomfortable situations. In an all-new episode of MTV's Girl Code, the funny ladies of MTV — with some help from The Show With Vinny star Vinny Guadagnino — tackle the subject. How should one give a compliment? At what point does it sound disingenuous? And do guys compliment eachother as often as girls do?

"Complimenting is uniquely a girl thing," says the former Jersey Shore star in Wetpaint Entertainment's exclusive clip from the episode (which you can watch below). "Girls can own that. I don't want it. I'm never going to go in the locker room at the gym, and say, 'Yo, your biceps are looking really good, bro.'"

Watch the hilarious clip below, and don't forget to check out Girl Code on Tuesday nights at 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
