No, Jersey Shore fans, The Woodies are not awards celebrating Pauly D's choices in junkular piercings. They're actually mtvU's version of an indie music awards show. They celebrate college students' top music picks, and the 8th Annual Woodie Awards, will be co-hosted by Dev (of "In the Dark" fame) and our very own DJ Pauly D.

"The Woodies are cool because it's all about music and I love music. It doesn't have to do with album sales or most popular people. It has to do with the performances and the music," Pauly told US Weekly. "Some of the greatest people started there. Wiz Khalifa started at the woodies. Kings of Leon started at The Woodies."

It looks like Pauly has a leg up on Snooki in the red carpet game — at least he knows who Kings of Leon are.

While the macaroni rascals (read: Snooki) don't have the best track record at award shows, we're sure Pauly feels more comfortable within the music scene than Snooks. But that doesn't mean he's anxiety free.

"It's pretty much live, so you can't slip up and you can't curse," he explained. "It's pretty cool because I'm actually doing two roles — I'm deejaying and hosting."

Tune into MTV and mtvU Sunday, March 18th at 8 pm ET to catch Pauly spinning and wise-cracking at The Woodie Awards.

Catch the reunion special for Jersey Shore on Thursday, March 22 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
