So much for those plans to start filming JWOWW and Snooki’s spin-off show in Hoboken. The mayor has effectively banned the Jersey Shore stars from filming anywhere in the whole town.

According to the Hudson Reporter, Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer announced that the city “denied a permit request from MTV to film publicly in the mile-square city.”

As we reported earlier this month, MTV was allegedly filing permits with local Hoboken businesses, asking permission to film Snooki and JWOWW for an untitled show (presumably their spin-off). But the Mayor isn’t having it.

"Based on protecting public safety and quality of life concerns for Hoboken residents, the city has denied a film permit for a spin-off of the Jersey Shore,” said Zimmer. She also said that filming the show would be “unnecessarily degrading [to residents'] quality of life."

Degrading? Maybe, but even Seaside Heights residents have come forward saying that Jersey Shore has given a much-needed boost to their economy.

Hopefully MTV had a Plan B (Jersey City?). It’s really time to get this sure-to-be-ridiculous show on the road, people!

Watch an all-new Jersey Shore on Thursday, February 2 at 10pm ET/PT on MTV.
