Despite their rising fame, the Jersey Shore cast is still working at the Shore Store this summer while filming Season 6. But since the castmates are bona fide celebrities now, how exactly does the store monitor who gets to come in, and how do they control any potential stalkers showing up to plant death stares on the cast?
An insider on the scene tells Wetpaint Entertainment that MTV checks the IDs of everyone looking to go inside the store, and makes everyone sign an official release. Our source says that customers are instructed, “No photos, no autographs … not allowed to say ‘I love you’ or mention that they are on a show.”
And what about the cast's working hours? The same source says that three cast members work at a time, with the first shift from 10 a.m. to about 4:00 p.m., and then the second shift from 5 p.m. to close. The cast works from Monday to Friday, with weekends off. Sounds like a plum deal!
Another sign that the store is kept secure and safe for the stars? According to our source, one of the JS producers said that MTV owns the store now. So much for Danny’s playful authority!
Correction: A previous version of this story said that the cast works one shift from 10 to 4:30 p.m., which was not true. The article has been updated to reflect the correct information.
Catch the premiere of Snooki and JWOWW’s new spin-off on Thursday, June 21 on MTV.
