As sad as it is, Pauly D has kind of taken over what used to be The Situation’s star status. Pauly has been filming his surefire hit spin-off with the likes of Britney Spears (sitting on his face), signed a deal with 50 Cent, and is poised to be Las Vegas’ most popular DJ. Plus, “Yeahhhhh buddy!” has become even more fun to say than G.T.L.

The Situation made an appearance over the weekend at Stew Leonards, one of Long Island’s most famous farm fresh supermarkets, to promote his Devotion liquor line — the protein-enhanced vodka the Sitch shills for.

But one of the Jersey Shore fans who showed up echoed the aforementioned sentiment that maybe this was Pauly D’s breakout year: “We're obsessed with the show," said Anna Zebrowska. "Pauly D is our favorite but we still wanted to meet Mike."

Ouch! Is all the anti-Mike drama initiated by Snooki starting to weaken his overall fan base? We hope he rises from the ashes during Season 5. He’s too quotable to disappear for good.
