All good (or at least entertainingly ridiculous) things must come to an end, and so it is with Jersey Shore.

MTV has officially confirmed that Season 6 will be the last hurrah for the hit reality TV show. Rumors have been swirling for ages that Season 6 was the end, and given that Snooki's now a mom, The Situation is now sober, and almost everyone is in a monogamous relationship, this decision makes a fair amount of sense. It's hard to wring drama and drunken hookups out of happy, settled grown ups.

Are you happy Jersey Shore is ending on what will hopefully be a high note, or were you hoping for a few more seasons? Did you like the idea of trying out a new cast? Do you think it's gone on too long as it is? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Jersey Shore Season 6 will premiere on Thursday, October 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
