According to Pauly D, Vinny had to count the months to make sure he couldn't be the father of Snooki's child. But what does Vinny himself have to say about Snooki's big news?
"It was definitely a shock," he told the Huffington Post. But he promises that Jersey Shore gang will do whatever they can to help. "You have to adapt to whatever life throws at you."
So, how does he think Snooki will adopt to her new role in life? He seems cautiously — very cautiously, if we're being honest — optimistic.
"I think she'll work on it," he said when asked if she'll be a good mother. "Any mom, whether they're 40 or 24, doesn't know what it is like until the baby is there. Everyone can talk about how irresponsible she is and how she drinks, but you don't know how she'll be when the baby comes out."
Will Snooki's fiance, Jionni LaValle, make a good dad? Vinny has very little to say on the matter: "I don't know the kid, but it is going to be a life-changer for him." No duh.
Don't let Vinny's lack of enthusiastic gushing about Snooki's potential motherly skills worry you too much. As Vin himself points out, Snooki and Jionni have "good families," so their kid will have lots of love and support, whether or not Snooki turns out to be mommy of the year.
Jersey Shore airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
