Joseph Gordon-Levitt is beloved by all, but Jersey Shore fans around the world may not be too pleased with the heartthrob now. While promoting his new film, Don Jon’s Addiction — which he wrote, directed, and stars in — at Sundance Film Festival, he admitted that his guido character was neither meant to resemble The Situation, nor is he a fan of the show!

With a gelled-up hairstyle, a serious six-pack, and a love of nightclubs, Joe’s character is basically a reincarnation of Mike, but he doesn’t see it that way. However, when these similarities were pointed out to the actor, he tuned into the show — and promptly turned it off after one episode!

"I had never seen Jersey Shore when I wrote [Don Jon’s Addiction], and when I became aware of the similarities, I did watch it. Sorry, I could only get through one of ‘em,” Joseph admitted to MTV News. “Look, that archetype goes back way further than Jersey Shore, whether you’re talking about Rocky or Saturday Night Fever, or [mobster] ‘Tough Tony.’”

Ouch! Well, it might be better off for The Situation considering Joe’s character is addicted to porn. However, considering the actor-writer-director’s love interest is Scarlett Johansson in the film, maybe Mike should take note!
