On last night’s Jersey Shore (Season 6, Episode 4: “Merp Walk”), we finally got to see the beginnings of the famous bar brawl that occurred back in June, when the cast was filming the show’s  final season. Perhaps the most disturbing moment in the episode involves Roger Mathews shoving his now-fiancee JWOWW to the ground. So how does the self-described gorilla explain his actions now?

The night after the episode aired (October 11), Roger tweeted, “Love my life. Love my girl. We are on display to judge and judge u may but all that matters at the end of the day is each other. #wegood.”

Roger seems to be saying that viewers’ judgments of his behavior during the fight are welcome and acceptable, but he isn’t making any kind of apology or expressing remorse for what happened. Do you think this reaction is acceptable, or should he have gone one step further and explained himself?

Immediately after JWOWW was pushed down, she stood up and punched Roger in the face, calling him a “dick,” and crying, “Who do you think you are?” Considering all the action going on around them, and the shaky camera angles, it’s very possible that the whole incident wasn’t what we think.

But tell us what you think in the comments!

Catch the next new episode of Jersey Shore on Thursday, October 18 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
