After Hurricane Sandy demolished much of the Jersey Shore (check out the Seaside rollercoaster literally swept out to sea here), one of its most famous summer residents pledged to help victims. Snooki tweeted yesterday (October 31) that she would be volunteering and donating money to repair and rescue efforts, and today, she’s following through on that promise.

Snooki tweeted, “Cleaning my closet today to donate clothes and whatever I can do the victims affected by sandy! I'm comin with clothes!!!!” on November 1.

One of the reasons the Jersey Shore star’s actions are particularly heroic (yes, we said it!) is because the meatball mama and her family, fiance Jionni LaValle and baby Lorenzo, are most likely still without any power. (Snooki and Lorenzo moved up to Snooki’s parents house in New York after the power didn’t come back after a couple days.) New Jersey residents are still suffering from electricity outages across the state even days after the hurricane hit. But Snooki isn’t just sitting back and waiting around.

At least the hurricane victims have one small victory amidst the many tragedies: more animal-print ensembles and 6-inch platform booties for all!
