We’re proud of Snooki for putting her party girl ways aside to be the best mom she can be for her son, Lorenzo. When she was a fun-loving meatball on Jersey Shore, Snooks spent her days drinking and eating junk food and her nights clubbing and, well, drinking some more with her roommates.
Back then, she didn’t seem to care about what ate or drank, but all of that’s definitely changed. Snooki recently appeared on the cover of Us Weekly, showing off her svelte bikini body after losing a whopping 42 pounds post-pregnancy.
This was all a hot topic of discussion during her recent interview with Dr. Oz on The Dr. Oz Show. Snooki explained to the doc that her weight loss was the result of hard work and dedication, not a “miracle pill”, and explained she worked out seven days a week since Halloween to stay in tip-top shape. You go, Snooki!
Dr. Oz told his audience that Snooki was probably the last guest you’d “ever think would end up on a show about health”, showing a clip package of Snooki’s party days at the Shore house and shots of her on the red carpet back before her dramatic weight loss.
When asked her what motivated her, and of course Snooki said she wanted to be fit so she could run around and play with her son, in addition to being a healthy role model for him.
Of course, Dr. Oz also touched on Snooki’s early struggles with an eating disorder and body image issues, which we learned a bit about in Season 1 of Jersey Shore. Remember when Mike made fun of her weight at dinner in Atlantic City? It triggered her and reminded her of her plight with anorexia in high school, which she shared with JWOWW in a very emotional scene.
Although Snooki is confident and has a larger-than-life personality, Dr. Oz suggested that he felt Snooki’s crazy ways were partly a result of her being a victim of bullying and body image issues. During the interview, which you can watch a bit of below, he probes Snooki for the deeper meaning behind her desire to slim down, and gets some pretty interesting answers.
Nevertheless, there’s no denying that Snooki’s changes have been her happier and more confident, and we couldn’t be more proud of her for achieving her goals.

Do you agree with Dr. Oz that Snooki’s partying was motivated by her past issues, or do you think it’s just part of her fun-loving personality? What do you think about her recent dramatic weight loss? Sound off below!
