Snooki may have gotten famous for her boozing ways on Jersey Shore, but according to paperwork filed in a lawsuit against her by licensing company SRG Ventures, it was those same antics that made it hard for SRG to land the guidette deals when they were working together.
Here's the backstory: Last November, Snooki sued SRG to end her contract with them, claiming they weren't getting her the branding deals she desired. They countersued, claiming she sabotaged their deals by working with other companies behind their back and generally being uncooperative.
We hadn't heard a lot about this case again until today. The New York Post now reports that SRG has filed more paperwork related to their claim this week, in which they say that Snooki's arrest in 2010, as well as her general drunken behavior, is why they had such a hard time securing her deals. According to SRG's paperwork, brands like Disney, Macy’s and Target "had no interest in associating their brand with the plaintiff’s [Polizzi] name."
Another point against Snooks: SRG has an email from her father, who is part of her management team, that was sent just a month before Snooks fired the company. In it, he praises SRG, saying "I as Nicole want to thank you for all that has been done to this point . . . I feel we have a good team, and I just want to make it a better one so we all prosper along with nicole gaining fortune and fame" and adding "I think she is the hottest thing on the market right now."
So who's to blame for the failure in this partnership: Snooki and her booze, or SRG? Time will tell as they continue to fight it out.
