Even though they only just became official this summer, the ballad of Paula Pickard and The Situation has actually been an epic. Based on what he said on the Jersey Shore Season 6 premiere (Season 6, Episode 1: “Once More Unto the Beach”), Mike has been hooking up with Paula for the past three years, but mostly just here and there.

Let’s take a look at the timeline of the most important relationship in The Situation’s life.

Season 1: Paula made her very first appearance on Jersey Shore back in Season 1, in the summer of 2009. The Situation brought her home to the Shore house and had a major makeout session with her in the infamous hot tub. She even got permission to sleep over, but Mike was rudely woken up early the next morning when Paula’s tanning salon boss started pounding on the front door, looking for her employee.

Season 3, Episode 2: "It's Gonna Be an Interesting Summer": When the cast returned to Seaside in the summer of 2010, Paula was (surprise!) still there. In a deleted scene, the whole cast winds up running into Paula at her tanning salon, and Mike says that he might be hooking up with her again because Paula is “a cute girl.” If only her boss, aka “her keeper,” would attend a GRC (Grenade Rehab Class), then he’d be in the clear.

Season 5, Episode 3: “Dropping Like Flies”: In the summer of 2011, The Situation finds Paula out at the clubs, and they do some dirty dancing. He starts to talk about her as a tentative option for wife-ing up, but can’t seem to commit. After all, he was still preoccupied with his substance abuse, and wasn’t really in the right mindset to be in a relationship.

Season 6, Episode 6: “Let’s Make It Official”: Three summers after their first hook-up in the hot tub, these two crazy kids decide to make it official. Let’s just hope it doesn’t all go down in flames in tonight’s episode (Season 6, Episode 9: “Make It Unofficial”, airing November 15)!
