According to The Situation’s father, Frank Sorrentino, this is not Mike’s first time in rehab. While Mike has just confirmed that he is seeking treatment for a prescription drug problem, his dad says that Mike underwent treatment at another facility three years ago, when he was 27 and had yet to start filming Jersey Shore.

“When Mikey was in rehab we found the facility for him in Florida and we brought him down here and did a 7 day dry out period then he went to another facility for 30 days,” says Frank in a new video from MetaCafe.

Frank continued, “For me, after years of dealing with his addiction, years of dealing with all the bullsh*t, this wasn’t a 16-year-old kid. The guy was a 27-year-old man. I was just hoping he would be able to stand up.”

The Situation’s father makes some comments that echo many of Mike’s Jersey Shore castmates’ complaints about him — that he makes a habit of luring those around him into his personal problems, and that he never wants to accept the blame for anything he may have done.

According to Frank, “He creates a problem for himself, deals it to you, and then blames you because you couldn’t solve the problem.”

We hope Mike gets the help he needs.
