Vinny Guadagnino Ditched Jersey Shore Because He Was Homesick
As we reported yesterday, Vinny Guadagnino called it quits on the set of Jersey Shore when he doffed his mic pack, packed his bags, and left the house. Apparently, after storming off set, he spent the night in a hotel room, eventually being coaxed back to the house by production. But the big mystery here is, why the hissy fit?
A Jersey Shore insider spilled a few deets to OK! Magazine. "There was no fight, he doesn’t really fight with anyone," the source said. "He had just seen his family and he got really homesick and packed his stuff up to go home. He actually was on his way home when he was intercepted by production, who convinced him to come back for a little bit longer."
Considering Vinny's close bond with his famiglia, and the fact that production sprang another 6 weeks of filming on the cast immediately after filming Season 4 in Italy, we actually buy this story. The macaroni rascals didn't realize they'd jump straight into another season until they left Italy and were shuttled off to Jersey. Apparently, as little contact with the outside world as possible is what makes for those explosive moments on the show. Well, yeah, if we were cooped up with Snooki for three months straight, we'd probably lose our sh—, too.
Unfortunately, the source connected with the show believes Vinny's future looks bleak, even though he was allowed to see his family after he peaced out.
"I don’t think he’ll make it through the whole season at all. It’s too long to be away from his family. They didn’t tell them they were going to be gone that long. They think bringing their family in is going to be helpful but all it does is make them even more homesick. He’s a good kid and really family oriented, so it’s really hard for him," the insider dished.
We don't even want to think about a show without Vinny. Hopefully, production will import Mama Guadagnino to the Shore house for a few days to clean and stuff the cast with meatballs and Entenmann's, and Vinny will feel at home again. That should do the trick, right?
