They never learn. Insulting a TV show, especially one like Jersey Shore or Buckwild, will only make more people curious to watch it.

Buckwild is replacing Jersey Shore on MTV starting January 3, but West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin sent a letter to MTV's president (excerpted by RadarOnline), saying the show is "repulsive" and spreads "ugly, inaccurate stereotypes" about W.V. (Has he seen The Wild And Wonderful Whites of West Virginia?)

"As a proud West Virginian, I am writing to formally request that you put a stop to the travesty called Buckwild," the former state governor wrote. "Instead of showcasing the beauty of our people and our state, you preyed on young people, coaxed them into displaying shameful behavior, and now you are profiting from it. That is just wrong."

Now maybe he knows how New Jersey feels. But he shouldn’t worry. The show may make the “stars” look bad, but most viewers will probably know better than to think they represent all West Virginians. They just represent most people looking to get famous on reality TV.
