Who knew that while Pauly D was fist-pumping his way to fame on Jersey Shore, he already had an entourage as loyal as Turtle, Johnny, and Eric waiting for him back home in Rhode Island?

Tonight we’ll get to meet the star’s pre-Jersey Shore crew on his spin-off, The Pauly D Project, but first, here’s a quick introduction to the men behind the famed GTL devotee.

Gerard “Big Jerry” Gialanella” – Pauly’s Bodyguard

Jerry met Pauly back when he was a bouncer at Ultra (where Pauly would DJ back in the day), a club in Providence, Rhode Island. Fun fact: Jerry used to weigh in at over 400 pounds, but has recently dropped 140 pounds thanks in part to Pauly’s excessive exercise and dieting regime. His newly gained strength should come in handy: Now he serves as Pauly’s personal security.

Ryan Labbe – Pauly’s bestie

No nickname needed for Ryan—the Providence native is simply known as Pauly’s best friend. The two met over 10 years ago at Ultra when Ryan worked as General Manager and Pauly would DJ (when he wasn’t busy with work as a used car salesman at Metro Honda).

Michael “Biggie” Morgan – Pauly’s Road Manager

Biggie, who is also a DJ, met Pauly when the two worked at Metro Honda selling used cars together and later DJed with him at Ultra. Now, Biggie works as the Jersey Shore star’s road manager, handling the crew’s day-to-day life and dealing with all the pesky details. The cast member is also the only member of Pauly’s posse who has a girlfriend back home—will he be able stay faithful in the City of Sin?

Jason “JROC” Craig – Club Promoter

JROC hails from Las Vegas and is even known as “Mr. Vegas” to many, thanks to his success in the world of marketing and customer development. JROC booked Pauly for a gig at the Palms following Jersey Shore’s success and “fell in love.” The two have been friends and business partners since.
