The plot — or should we say, Fitchuation — thickens!

After hearing that Abercrombie & Fitch was offering to pay Jersey Shore star The Situation to stop wearing their clothes in public, Mike’s fellow cast mate, Pauly D, tweeted a snappy response to the tween clothing brand’s PR stunt.

“Hmmm if They Don't Want Us To Wear Those Clothes Why Make GTL Shirts #yourPRsux,” Pauly tweeted earlier today, linking to a photo of an Abercrombie & Fitch shirt embroidered with the words “GTL: (You Know the Deal).” Hmmm, indeed! Why slam the clever macaroni rascals for "damaging [your] brand" if you are actually profiting from their hijinx?

The GTL shirt isn’t the only item of Jersey Shore-related clothing that the store has been peddling. In fact, last summer, the brand came out with a number of graphic tees with Shore-related sayings, including a top that read “The Fitchuation.” You’ve been caught, A&F, and by none other than eagle-eyed Pauly D!

Earlier today, MTV responded to Abercrombie & Fitch’s offer by calling it a “clever PR stunt.

Whose side are you on: Abercrombie & Fitch or the Jersey Shore clan?
