After Shain Gandee died tragically earlier this week, there have been plenty of questions surrounding his hit show, Buckwild — especially whether or not MTV will cancel the series.

The network already halted production on Season 2, which was filming in Charleston, West Virginia. Production will remain that way for a few weeks, if not longer.

MTV spokesman Jake Urbanski told the Associated Press that “it would be at least a few weeks before producers and cast members decide whether to continue shooting season two,” allowing everyone to focus on “supporting Gandee's friends and family.”

The two production companies behind Buckwild are also paying for Shain’s funeral, which will take place on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Charleston Municipal Auditorium, followed by a private family burial service in Thaxton Cemetery.

Contrary to previous plans, HuffPo reports that the Gandee family requests that “fans and friends send donations to one of two charities: the Angels Among Us program at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C., or the Autism Society in Bethesda, Md.” rather than flowers or other personal gifts or money sent to their PayPal account.

Our thoughts go out to Shain's family and friends during this difficult time.
