Jersey Shore was arguably a real economic boon to the struggling Seaside Heights, bringing in a stream of tourists who otherwise would have overlooked the vacation destination. Is it possible that JWOWW and Snooki's spin-off, Snooki and JWOWW vs The World, will do the same thing for Jersey City?

Some people certainly think so. Steven Gorelick, executive director of the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission, told the Jersey Journal that although "it's difficult to predict whether [the show] will have the same effect as in Seaside Heights," Jersey City could stand to bring in more than $4 million due to the show. "Hopefully there will be a great effect for Jersey City — people eating at the restaurants and shopping...That would be ideal."

"It can give us very good exposure," said Jeff Favia of Powerhouse Lounge, who hopes the show will act as advertisement for Jersey City nightlife. "They shot in some nice places, and if and when it starts airing, I think we will all do well."

Even having the show film in the city for five weeks was good for the economy. After all, the 30-person crew had to eat, sleep, and shop somewhere, and local businesses felt the boost.

Take that, Hoboken.
