Jersey Shore’s SallyAnn Salsano Named to Women in Entertainment Power 100
For any reality show fanatic, the differences between Jersey Shore and all the rest are abundant, not the least of which is the production. The action is shot in a very gritty way, with old-school film scratches (a la Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse), and fuzzy, surveillance-style night vision footage.
The woman responsible for making such a daring show possible is executive producer SallyAnn Salsano, whose production company 495 Productions launched and packaged Jersey Shore. This accomplishment, among others both in the past and still to come, has earned her a coveted spot on The Hollywood Reporter’s 2011 Women in Entertainment Power 100.
SallyAnn claims that, just because she’s the brainchild behind Jersey Shore, she doesn’t necessarily have aces jammed up her sleeve: "Everyone's like: 'What's the next Jersey Shore? What's the next Jersey Shore?' and I'm like, 'Shoot, if I knew how to only make No. 1 shows in history …'" she says, laughing. "It's like, 'Yeah, I've been just sitting on them all and waiting for you guys to call me.' I wish it were that simple."
We applaud SallyAnn for the accolades and, even if it’s not the next JS, we still can’t wait for her next big-hair, big-attitude show on VH1, Mama Drama.
