Jesse Williams Fighting Ex Aryn Drake-Lee For Custody

We hate to say it, but Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams’s divorce from wife Aryn Drake-Lee is getting ugly.

Now the two exes are battling in court over custody of their children, 3-year-old daughter Sadie and 1-year-old son Maceo.

Read on for the details, people, but be braced for some acidic acrimony.

News of Jesse and Aryn’s divorce made headlines in April, and since then, we’ve seen evidence suggesting he’s dating Friday Night Lights alum Minka Kelly.

Apparently, Aryn didn’t like their Los Angeles life like she liked their life in Brooklyn, and she was getting frustrated he was working such long hours.

Two months later, though, the breakup drama continues.

“Aryn restricts my time with the children and decides when and for how long I may have them. She has rejected, without any reason, each and every request I have made to have the children sleep over at my residence,” Jesse claims in new court documents obtained by Us Weekly.

“On the few days that I have the children, Aryn has insisted that my time with the children be limited during the week to approximately two-and-a-half hours per day, despite my requests for more time, including overnights with the children,” the actor continues.

He also says he has “always been an active, involved, ‘hands-on’ dad.”

Jill Hersh, Aryn’s attorney, isn’t taking Jesse’s accusations lying down.

“Protecting the privacy and well-being of their children is of paramount importance to Aryn Drake-Lee Williams,” she says.

“It is unfortunate that Mr. Williams has chosen to draw public attention to this difficult time and transition for their family.”

“Aryn is solely interested in the best interests of their children, supporting a healthy relationship with both parents, and protecting the children’s privacy,” the lawyer continues.

“Therefore, she will not comment any further on Mr. Williams’s unilateral and unfortunate public allegations.”

We haven’t heard much from Jesse about the experience of being a father, other than what he told People shortly after Sadie’s birth.

“It’s hard to describe,” he said at the time.

“It’s wonderful — a new discovery every day. It’s great and I’m loving it.”

He’s still loving being a dad, we’re sure, but it’s definitely making the divorce process that much more complicated. For their sake — and, more importantly, the sake of their kids — we hope he and Aryn reach an amicable agreement soon.
