Jessica Capshaw and Her Spielberg Family Raise $200,000 For Education

It may have not had the death-defying (and nearly deadly) circus acts of the hospital fundraiser we saw last season on Grey's Anatomy, but star Jessica Capshaw (Arizona Robbins) and her famous family put on a great gala nonetheless — and for a great cause!

In case you didn't know, Jessica's mom is Indiana Jones star Kate Capshaw and her stepfather is A-list director Steven Spielberg.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, the family — including Jessica's adoptive brother Theo and half-sister Sasha — convened to host the First Annual Poetic Justice Celebration at the Herb Alpert Educational Village in Santa Monica, California.

Their goal was to raise $100,000 for the Coalition of Engaged Education, a nonprofit whose projects include a summer program in Lennox, CA, aiding 20 high-schoolers identified as dropout risks.

The high-profile guests, which included Gwyneth Paltrow, Sally Field, Jonah Hill, Maya Rudolph, and Tyrese Gibson, took turns at the mic to recite poetry, including that of Maya Angelou, who had passed away earlier that day.

And that goal? The Spielberg-Capshaw clan doubled it, raising at least $200,000 and potentially as much as $250,000.

Job well done, Jessica!
