Jessica Sanchez’s Single to Benefit Typhoon Haiyan Victims — Listen Here

Though last month’s devastating Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines was one of the strongest storms in history and claimed over 5,000 lives, there still seems to be less media coverage and public support than disasters of years past. But American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez is looking to change that with her recent charity single, “Lead Me Home.”

While the ballad’s inspiring message and Jessica’s powerful vocals are sure to move you — seriously, this tune sounds straight off a Disney soundtrack — purchasing the single will also make you feel good for giving back, as all proceeds go directly to the American Red Cross and the victims of the typhoon. Props to Jessica, a proud American-born Filipina herself, for supporting her people in this time of hardship.

For those looking to donate a little more than the cost of a $1.29 single, you can also purchase the entire Songs for the Philippines album, which includes 39 songs from artists like Kelly Clarkson, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and more, all for just $9.99. A great deal and a worthy cause!

In addition to her self-penned single, the Glee star has raised money for the cause by hosting a Stageit concert, an online portal for artist performances. Plus, she is currently in the Philippines through December 10 on a medical mission. At just 18 years old, Jessica is one do-gooder we can all learn a little something from.

Will you buy Jessica’s new single? Let us know in the comments below.
