Jim Parsons Squirms When Ellen DeGeneres Asks: Will You Get Married?
Apparently, funny woman Ellen DeGeneres has been Skyping our Grandma Bernice, because recently on her show she asked guest Jim Parsons the question Grammy B asks us every Thanksgiving: when are you going to get married?
The Big Bang Theory actor stopped by Ellen’s show to chat about his new film The Normal Heart, airing this Sunday on HBO, but the talk show host also wanted to chat about his love life. So how’d the actor take the grilling?
The 41-year-old squirmed and reminded Ellen that his boyfriend of 11 years, Todd Spiewak, was watching the broadcast when Ellen flat-out asked “are you going to get married?” The actor went on to say “I don’t know, that’s a hard one. You get used to your life as it is.” The tenacious Ellen kept pressing the matter, saying “eleven years is enough time to know.” Well, she does have a point.
Ellen and our Grammy Gram should totally have tea and discuss starting a biz together as wedding planners. After telling Ellen he “feels like a loser for the cause,” referring to being an openly gay man not dying to walk down the aisle, Ellen argues, “But it gets better when you’re married, it really does.”
Jim’s response? “When did you turn into my mother?” Touché, Jim. Touché.
