Girls Gone Wild Founder Joe Francis Arrested on Assault Charges in L.A.
His franchise may be called Girls Gone Wild, but it's adult-entertainment magnate Joe Francis who appears to be living a wild life.
The 41-year-old was arrested in Los Angeles on the night of May 16, Entertainment Weekly reports, after allegedly showing up at the Girls Gone Wild offices, violating a restraining order, and fighting with an employee and a security guard.
Cops arrested Joe at the scene, booked him on misdemeanor battery charges, and released him the following morning once he had posted $20,000 in bail.
Joe tells TMZ the restraining order is no longer valid and the employee with whom he fought was the new owner of GGW, who has a "business vendetta" against him. He also alleges that the security guard "manhandled" his pregnant wife.
This incident is just the latest in a long line of troubles for the businessman, including many arrests. Only one year ago, Joe was convicted of assault against three women. He later said the jury which found him guilty "should be euthanized." That August, he was sentenced to nine months in county jail and three years of probation.
If this scofflaw made a resolution to be an upstanding citizen in 2014 — which we doubt — it sounds like he just blew it.
