As if Joe Giudice weren't already in enough legal hot water, he now has a new issue to deal with.
Joe — who is married to Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice — was cited recently by police for driving carelessly in a school zone in his hometown of Montville, New Jersey, according to ABC News.
A police administrator reports that Joe was pulled over on November 5 after swerving into oncoming traffic lanes. He faces up to a $200 fine, not to mention a possible 15 days in jail.
So why exactly was Joe swerving into the other lane? "The officer assumed he was texting," the administrator says. “He didn’t actually see him texting, but he assumed that’s what he was doing."
To say that this is not Joe's first driving-related incident would be a massive understatement. His driver's license has reportedly been suspended a whopping 47 (!) times since he got his license in 1987. Yes, 47 freakin' times. He was arrested in 2011 for fraudulently obtaining a license after his own license had been suspended.
Sadly, this is hardly the only legal trouble on Joe's plate. He and Teresa have been indicted on federal fraud charges and face 50 years in prison. They're due in court in February 2014.
We wish Joe and Teresa's family all the best moving forward. And we think Joe might want to consider riding the city bus from now.
