Joe Manganiello Reflects on the Final Season of True Blood: “It’s Sad”

Wrapping up a television show is tough, and even though Joe Manganiello (Alcide Herveaux) wasn’t on True Blood for all of the HBO show’s seven seasons (having joined the cast in Season 3), he’s still not looking forward to saying goodbye to the series. “It's sad," Joe told E! News at the Season 7 premiere earlier this week. "It's sad to say goodbye to the character and the show … It really was an amazing experience for everyone who worked on it.”

As you may have guessed, Joe is hardly the only True Blood star who’s dreading the show’s end. Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) revealed that earlier this week the cast had their table read for the series finale, and he noted that there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. “People turned up that we hadn’t seen for ages — [series creator] Alan [Ball] was there,” he dished.

Thankfully, though, Joe won’t have a long time to wallow in a post True Blood haze. The sexy actor also stars in the Magic Mike sequel, which he revealed will start shooting in the fall. “It's a road trip movie,” he said of the highly-anticipated follow-up film. “All the guys will be back together and causing some mayhem,”

So with the start of production on Magic Mike right around the corner, we can pretty much bet that Joe’s enviable six-pack won’t be disappearing. “That ain't gonna happen,” he reassured us.

On a personal note, the 37-year-old actor sang a different tune when asked if there was a special lady in the picture. "It could be happening,” he revealed. Oh, Joe, do tell!

Are you ready for True Blood to come to an end, or are you sad like Mr. Manganiello? Tell us where you stand below!
