Joey Chestnut Breaks Hot Dog-Eating Record — He Ate HOW Many?
Americans are the best at some things that we might not want to be the best at.
At the annual hot dog-eating contest on the Fourth of July in Coney Island, competitive eater Joey Chestnut wolfed down a record 69 wieners and buns, according to TMZ. Please excuse a moment while we go throw up.
For his troubles, Joey pocketed the $10,000 grand prize, which he has now won for the seventh-consecutive year. We're thinking the guy needs some other hobbies.
The 69 dogs tops the previous record of 68, which Joey had set in 2009 and again in 2012.
For the women, Sonya "Black Widow" Thomas won by putting away 37 hot dogs.
This is the kind of story that makes us all proud to be an American, right?
