Jonas Brothers Tour Cancellation: What’s It Really About? — Report

Earlier this week, the Jonas Brothers shocked fans when they cancelled their upcoming 19-city tour, seemingly out of the blue. Their spokesperson, Jesse Derris, claims it was due to a “deep rift within the band” and a “big disagreement over their music direction.” The band, reunited after a two-year hiatus, celebrated their return to music a year ago this week with a sold out performance at Radio City Music Hall. So what could have caused a disagreement so soon?

While the Bros themselves have stayed mum — even leaving members of their backing band in the dark — we do know that it wasn’t caused by poor ticket sales.

“Ticket sales were fine,” a source close to the band reportedly tells E! Online. “This certainly wasn’t about tickets. They had just come off a very successful summer run in bigger venues that sold very well, and the guys wanted to keep the team together through the fall until another larger run next summer — mostly to support the new music.”

And although the reason for the rift could’ve been any number of things, including but not limited to eldest brother Kevin’s wife’s pregnancy, the source insists it really is about the music.

They're brothers and that will never change," the source says. "This isn't about personal issues. The guys recorded a lot of music and there was broad disagreement within the group about what direction to take the music."

Regardless of the cause, we hope the guys update us on what’s going on — and if we can still expect them to release their upcoming album, V — soon.

What do you think really happened that caused the Jonas Brothers to cancel their tour? Sound off below!
