Jonathan Groff Brings John Travolta’s Oscar Flub to the 2014 Tonys in a Hilarious Way (VIDEO)

Frequent Glee guest star Jonathan Groff (Jesse St. James) often says that his best friend Lea Michele (Rachel) is the one with a killer sense of humor, but at the 2014 Tony Awards on Sunday night, June 8, in New York City, the Looking star proved that he has a pretty wicked sense of humor as well.

As we told you last week, the former Spring Awakening star was added to the list of presenters for Broadway’s biggest night, and he was tasked with introducing his Frozen co-star (and another Glee guest star) Idina Menzel, who was scheduled to perform a song from her current Broadway musical, If/Then.

But, as we know, introducing Idina is no easy task. When actor John Travolta introduced the Tony-award winning actress at the 86th Academy Awards back in March, he famously flubbed her name and introduced us to “the wicked-ly talented Adele Dazeem” instead.

For his part, the Grease star apologized profusely in the days following the Academy Awards, but that didn’t stop J.Groff from having a little fun at the actor’s expense during Sunday’s Tonys ceremony. A Broadway vet himself, J. Groff pronounced Idina’s name perfectly, but it’s what came just before it that gave us Oscars flashbacks.

Check out the brief clip of Jonathan introducing Idina below and see if you can pick up on his hilarious nod to Mr. Travolta’s Oscar flub. Then tell us what you think in the comments!
