When Jordana Brewster isn’t driving fast cars or finding herself in some serious drama in Dallas, she’s just your average mom raising her 8-month-old son, Julian. The 34-year-old and her film producer husband, Andrew Form, welcomed their baby boy via surrogate back in September 2013, and as someone who practices meditation on the regular, she thought she would be a calm and collected mother. Boy, was she wrong!
“I thought I would be this zen earth mama, but I am more paranoid about things than I used to be,” the new mother admitted to Cricket’s Circle, a website dedicated to mommy advice. “People say that once you become a mom you’ll know exactly what to do, but that isn’t necessarily true. I find myself more anxious than before.”
Given how her son Julian recently ingested a leaf, we kind of see where Jordana is coming from. “One day, Julian ate a leaf and then puked it up shortly thereafter. That’s when I realized I have to have my eyes on him at all times.”
Jordana went on to say, “There’s no such thing as multitasking as a mom. If you’re answering emails, you aren’t giving the baby the attention he needs. I’m trying to be more mindful and setting aside time to devote myself to work so I can give him my full attention when I am with him. It’s a work in progress,” she adds. “I meditate twice a day to resist the urge!” Keep it up, girl!
Despite a few bumps in the road, it seems like Jordana is adapting to motherhood just fine. It’s something she’s always wanted to experience — in fact, maybe even again with a second child! Back in 2013, the actress dished to Latina about her desire to have a big family.
“I definitely want to have kids,” Jordana said. “I want two. I grew up with a sister, but I know Andrew would love boys, but I’ll take what I can get. So we’re thinking about having kids but I don’t know when it’ll happen. I feel very ready now.” Now that she’s had Julian, sounds like he could become a big brother someday soon.
But for now, we’re sure Julian is enough for his momma, especially after his leaf fiasco! Let’s just hope he stays away from any more “greens.”
