Joseph Morgan Shoots Down Klaroline Hopes, Talks “Action-Packed” Season 1 Finale

Only two episodes left in the stellar Season 1 of The Originals, and Joseph Morgan (Klaus) is talking Klaroline and the epic season ending. What did he tell She Knows on the subjects? Read on to find out!

When asked about the possibility of future Klaroline developments, JoMo was singing the same old tune: "There's nothing I can say to you that I didn't sum up already [at the Television Critics Association panel]," Joseph told the news outlet. "That was my wise answer to the whole Caroline question, so I really don't have anymore to say about it, you know?"

What did Joseph say about Klaroline on the TCA panel?: "We know there will be crossovers between the shows. We know that. We know the last thing he [Klaus] said to her [Caroline] was, ‘I intend to be your last love.’ I don't think they [the writers] dangle that carrot and not come through with anything. I know I'm going to be in every episode of The Originals. But we film half an hour away from The Vampire Diaries, so it's still possible that they'll use what little free time I have, drag me out to set in Decatur and film some of that." That actually sounds pretty good to us — though a little bit on the long-term side. To keep in mind, this TCA panel took place last summer, before the spin-off even started airing. If this is Joseph’s stock answer for “there’s still hope, but no new Klaroline developments on the horizon,” then we may be waiting a while.

As for the fate of The Originals Season 1 finale, Joseph was much more forthcoming. He called the season-ender “dynamic,” and said he’s “really excited for everyone to see.” (Us too, Joseph, us too.) He teased: "You've got such a roller coaster ahead of you for the next two episodes — an action-packed, emotionally charged end to Season 1.”

The Originals airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
