Eager to see more of Joseph Morgan? Well, you’re in luck! The Originals star’s new film, Armistice (formerly known as Warhouse) is getting a VOD release next month. Read on to find out more about the creepy psychological thriller, and JoMo’s role in it!

“NEWS! @ArmisticeMovie is on VOD on Jan. 7, 2014 & in US theaters on Jan. 31, 2014. Dates in other countries SOON!” Joseph excitedly tweeted December 19. The promo poster for the flick has JoMo sporting his trademark steely glare, and the tagline: “In their deaths, I mark my days.” We’re getting some serious Klaus vibes from the entire set-up.

But Joseph is decidedly not Klaus Mikaelson in the indie film. In Armistice, Joseph plays A.J. Budd, a Royal Marine trapped in the “Warhouse.” According to the official synopsis: “Imprisoned, he is forced to fight for his life against grotesque, inhuman opponents. He must kill every day or die himself. His one glimmer of hope comes in the form of a diary, left by a former occupant of the house, WWI Lieutenant Edward Sterling, played by Matt Ryan.” Eek! Sounds spooky. Looks spooky, too, as we see in the teaser trailer.

We’re excited to see The Originals star finding roles outside of Klaus. As much as we love the brooding hybrid vamp, more JoMo is always a good thing (as outlined above). In addition to Armistice, Joseph has also been working on a short film — this time, behind the camera. He directed former TVDer and current girlfriend Persia White in Revelation, a 10-minute horror short Joseph is currently submitting to festivals. Check out the trailer here, and let us know what you think!

The Originals returns Tuesday, January 14, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
