With the way Joseph Morgan completely inhabits the role of Klaus Mikaelson on The Originals, sometimes it’s hard to imagine him in any other role. But the British actor is a versatile and ambitious performer with a new movie, Armistice, just released on VOD and iTunes. Hopefully there are many roles in his future, but what did he call his dream role?

“I'm a big reader so I suppose I would be interested in playing a role from a book I love,” Joseph told Cambio. “But I read a lot of genre, so I don't think I'm looking for another sort of vampire or werewolf part. I'm happy to be still playing [Klaus] on The Originals, but in terms of looking for something else — I suppose anything from a Stephen King novel would be great. Anything that meant I could get to meet Stephen King would be a great role for me I think.”

We would love to see JoMo bring a literary character to screen — Stephen King, or otherwise. We’re sure the adaptation would be lucky to have him! But, we have to admit, we’re glad Joseph gave Klaus a shout-out in the interview. We’ve not tired of seeing him work out the many complexities of the Original hybrid yet — and it sounds like he hasn’t either. He also spoke on the gratitude he has for the success of The Originals.

“It feels really good,” he said of the supernatural spin-off. “It was a long time coming. It's been really rewarding to explore that character to a greater level. To have everyone who is a fan of that show watching the other project I've done and getting them excited is very rewarding as well. I feel very lucky that the fan base is willing to come over and show an interest.”

The Originals returns on Tuesday, February 25 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
