Joseph Morgan (Klaus Mikaelson) has been doing a lot of screaming on The Originals set, what with all of the self-burying daggers about — but what has him screaming in real life? The television star tweeted about his real-life scream sessions.

“@JosephMorgan After filming was it hard to get out of the mind set of the character you were playing? #ArmisticeMovie,” one Twitter fan asked JoMo about his recently-released historical suspense film, Armistice.

In Armistice, Joseph plays A.J. Budd, a Royal Marine trapped in the “Warhouse.” According to the official synopsis: “Imprisoned, he is forced to fight for his life against grotesque, inhuman opponents. He must kill every day or die himself. His one glimmer of hope comes in the form of a diary, left by a former occupant of the house, WWI Lieutenant Edward Sterling, played by Matt Ryan.” So, yeah, pretty creepy.

Joseph tweeted back: “Some nights I wake up screaming, believing I'm still in the house.” He concluded the tweet with a winky-face, so we wouldn’t worry too much about Joseph’s beauty sleep. In fact, he seems to love all of this horror stuff. His directorial debut came with a creepy short film, Revelation, that has actress girlfriend Persia White battling for her life in a number of eerily-lit, abandoned locations. This guy consumes the horror genre!

And Armistice isn’t all suspense and gore. There’s also a singing bath scene from Joseph! Sure, it ends in violence, but it starts with shirtless JoMo, and that has to count for something.

The Originals returns on Tuesday, February 25 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
