Pregnant Joy-Anna Duggar Under Fire For Posting Pro-Life Photos Alongside Baby Bump Pic
The Duggars could really use a lesson in online etiquette.
The latest family member to cause a raucous on social media is Joy-Anna Duggar, whose recent pregnancy-related upload is causing a frenzy.
And we don't mean that in a good way.
Joy announced her first pregnancy in August just three months after marrying Austin Forsynth.
Fans were convinced the 19-year-old was pregnant before her wedding due to the couple's very quick baby announcement, but now haters are on the newlywed for another issue entirely.
The Counting On star posted the below baby bump photo on hers and her husband's shared Instagram account on October 1, revealing in the caption the vegetable her fetus resembles and that she recently felt it kick for the first time.
But if you scroll through the post, you'll understand why fans are up in arms.
The second and third photos in the set feature blatant anti-abortion, pro-life imagery, including a sign that reads "life offers no guarantees but abortion offers no chances," as well as this pic of her hubby holding up a sign reading "abortion kills children."
Many followers found it bizarre that the Duggar daughter would post about her own pregnancy and abortion in the same post.
"Honestly it seems pretty odd to me that you would celebrate your child while condemning what you see as murdering babies in the same post...but that’s just me," someone said.
"Why don’t [you] just enjoy your baby instead of turning it into a political statement," said another.
However, others in the comments were happy to see the reality TV star take a stand on what she believes in.
"Proud to see you using your platform for good, and that you're not afraid to show what you stand for! Love seeing you stand up for life!"
This is hardly the first time a member of the religious TV family has come under fire for his or her controversial opinions, however.
Most recently, Jill Dillard's husband, Derick, was ridiculed this summer for his anti-trans comments towards fellow TLC star, Jazz Jennings.
“What an oxymoron … a ‘reality’ show which follows a non-reality," Derick tweeted in response to a promo of Jazz's show.
“‘Transgender’ is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it’s ordained by God.”
Neither Joy-Anna nor her hubby Austin — whose family has some baggage of their own — have addressed the backlash, but stay tuned!
