Inside Joy-Anna Duggar’s Engagement — See the Family’s Reaction! (VIDEO)
Seems like there’s always more cause for celebration in the Duggar family.
The engagement was announced Friday via a video on the family’s website, taken just moments after the 23-year-old proposed to the fifth-youngest daughter.
As the couple explains in the clip, it all took place when they were in the midst of a horseback ride on some trails in their native Arkansas. They weren’t alone, though!
The 19-year-old bride-to-be explains she’d brought along younger sisters Johannah, 12, and Jennifer, 10, as “chaperones” for the date.
“Austin made this day really, really special,” the Counting On star gushes, “and then he asked me to marry him, and I said yes.”
“I knew we were ready for this next step because everything fell into place,” her future hubby adds. “Everything was just perfect.”
The two can now start wedding planning (which we’ll see on the upcoming season of the TLC show) but even more exciting? They can hold hands now!
“I feel like engagement is more special because we’re committed to each other now, and we’re just moving forward to the day that we get married, and it’s exciting,” he shares.
Seemingly just as excited by the news are Joy-Anna’s sisters, Jessa and Jill, who both shared their congratulations with videos.
Jessa and husband Ben Seewald, along with their two boys — Spurgeon, 1, and 1-month-old Henry — shouted out the soon-to-be-wed pair.
“We’re super excited for y’all, getting engaged and we are looking forward to the big day — your wedding day,” the busy mama gushes. “The little boys say congratulations, too. There’s Henry and Spurgey saying, ‘Yay, we’re happy to have another uncle.’ We love y’all.”
Not to be outdone, pregnant Jill and hubby Derick Dillard also made a video featuring their son, Israel.
“Hey Joy and Austin, congratulations! We just heard the good news on the engagement,” Derick says, before his wife and baby boy chime in.
With all this love coming their way, Joy-Anna and Austin are truly #blessed.
