Joyce Giraud Hosts Queen of the Universe Pageant — Which Housewives Didn’t Attend?
As a two-time Miss Puerto Rico, Joyce Giraud has had her fair share of experience with beauty pageants. So much so, in fact, she thought it was time that she started one of her very own!
In 2012, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star created “Queen of the Universe,” a pageant that aims to break the rules of all the others that have come before. “I wanted a pageant that doesn’t judge women based on their circumstances in life,” Joyce revealed to Naluda magazine. “If a woman had a baby at a young age, why would she not be allowed to represent her country? Or if a woman is married or divorced or has a particular gender choice. I think these are all things that should never be judged on, but sadly, most pageants are stuck in the past. I hated how the girls had to be super skinny or a certain height. I changed the rules and added the most important rule. The only thing that is very important is that all the girls must have a charity-based platform.”
March 16 marked the 2nd Annual Queen of the Universe Beauty Pageant, which was held at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills. Despite all of the drama that’s gone down between Joyce and the other Housewives, Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards both stepped out to show their support.
Unfortunately, none of the other ladies made an appearance at the pageant, but we can’t exactly say we’re surprised. Not only has Brandi Glanville had major beef with Joyce throughout the entire season, but Brandi’s nemesis Scheana Marie was performing at the event!
Yikes, sounds like Joyce and Scheana might be bonding over their mutual disdain. Brandi should probably watch out!
