So, when Juan Pablo and Nikki made their public debut as a couple on the live “After the Final Rose” special moments later, it’s safe to say that things were more than a little bit awkward. Nikki said she’s still just as in love with Juan Pablo as ever, but she admitted that he still hasn’t said “I love you” back.
Juan Pablo insisted that he and Nikki are happy, but he also didn’t want to divulge too many details about their relationship. (Somebody told the man he’s the star of a reality dating show, right? Talking about your personal life on TV sort of comes with the territory.)
Nikki insisted that she doesn’t need Juan Pablo to say “I love you,” because he shows it to her with his actions. But when Chris Harrison teased that Juan Pablo had told producers he had a surprise, plenty of people assumed that Juan Pablo might pop a surprise proposal on live TV. Except... Juan Pablo didn’t. And seeing the look of silent devastation on Nikki’s face when she realized that, we’re sort of wondering how long that optimism and patience will last.
Bachelor Nation had plenty to say about the extreme awkwardness that went down. Take a look at their thoughts.
Just caught The Bachelor…and I think it's safe to say our season no longer holds the record for most awkward After the Final Rose! Ay Yi Yi!
